Reserve Corporal Ahmed Alwan Hamaki
This Iraqi M80 helmet was brought back from Desert Storm and sports shrapnel damage that cut clean through the front and back of the helmet. It is named to a Reserve Corporal Ahmed Alwan Hamaki of the 1st Company, 1st Regiment, 87th Infantry Brigade, which was part of the Iraqi 46th Infantry Division. This division was mainly stationed in the mountains of Northern Iraq fighting Kurdish forces, hence why Hamaki chose to paint his helmet green instead of the usual tan. After Desert Storm ended, the 46th Division was disbanded, and it is unknown whether Reserve Corporal Hamaki survived the conflict to be reassigned to a different unit. What is known however, is that he was not wearing this helmet when it sustained the shrapnel damage.
